What I collect

If you subscribe, I collect your email address. I use it to send you essays. I don't ask for your name, your location, your employer, or anything else.

Email

The newsletter is delivered through MailerLite, a third-party email service. MailerLite stores your email address on its servers in order to send you the essays. MailerLite may track whether you open emails and which links you click — this is standard for email delivery platforms and helps me understand whether the work is reaching people. You can read MailerLite's privacy policy for details on how they handle subscriber data.

I don't sell, share, or rent your email address to anyone.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and read the site — which pages get traffic, where visitors come from, and how long they stay. Google Analytics sets cookies on your browser and collects data including your IP address, browser type, and browsing behavior on this site. Google may use this data in accordance with their own privacy policy. If you'd prefer not to be tracked, you can install Google's opt-out browser extension.

Advertising and tracking pixels

This site uses the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel and Google Ads tracking code. These tools set cookies on your browser and collect data about your visit so I can measure whether advertising is working and show ads to people who might want to read the publication. This means Meta and Google may track your visit to this site and use that information for their own advertising purposes, including showing you ads on their platforms.

You can manage your ad preferences through Meta's ad settings and Google's ad settings.

Cookies

This site sets cookies through Google Analytics, the Meta pixel, and Google Ads. These cookies track your browsing activity on this site and may be used to build an advertising profile across other sites you visit. If you want to limit this, most browsers allow you to block or delete third-party cookies in your privacy settings.

Unsubscribing

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're removed. No guilt trip. No follow-up asking why you left.
